BACKGROUND OF THE CONFERENCE:
ISTAC, IIUM being a Center of Postgraduate Studies is concerned with dimensions and aspects of Islamic Thought and Civilization, focusing on its heritage as well as its aspirations and future position in placing Islamic Thought and Civilization on a strong and effective footing vis-a-vis contemporary issues and developments. Therefore this International Conference is an attempt in this direction to see Islamic Thought in relation to the development and issues of postmodernism.

OBJECTIVE OF THE CONFERENCE:
1.      To identify the nature and major elements and trends of postmodernism
2.      To identify areas and issues of concern in Islamic Thought with the emergence of post-modernism
