The International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization (ISTAC), International Islamic University Malaysia is organizing its International Conference on Islamic Thought After Post-Modernism in October 2011.

Main Theme:  Postmodernism – Reconsideration in Islamic Thought

Topics of interest for paper submission include:

1.      Worldview and Civilization in Islam and Postmodernism.

2.      Epistemology in Islamic Thought and Postmodernism.

3.      Man in Postmodernism and Islam.

4.      Permanence and Change – Values in Islam and Postmodernism.

5.      Scientific Discourse in Islamic Civilization and Postmodernism.

6.      Nature and Significance of Culture in Islam and Postmodernism.

7.      Education and Development in Islam and Postmodernism.

8.      Art in Islam and Postmodernism.

9.      Man and Society in the Perspective of Postmodernism and Islam.

10. Nature and Significance of Grand Narrative in Islam and Postmodernism.

11. The Notion of Truth and Reality in Islam and Postmodernism.

12. Man and Language in Islam and Postmodernism.

Writers are requested to focus on themes and ideas and avoid descriptive and biographical details of figures of Postmodernism.
